New Account Review Process Due to Violation of Drop Shipping Policy on Amazon

July 7, 2023

Introduction:

Amazon has recently implemented a new account review process for sellers who have been found to violate their drop shipping policy.

This review process can have significant implications for sellers, including a freeze on funds and, in some cases, immediate suspension of Fulfilled by Merchant (FBM) privileges.

In this article, we will discuss the details of this new review process, the evidence required by Amazon to prove compliance, and the potential consequences for sellers.

Amazon's Account Review and Freeze of Funds:

Upon detecting a violation of the drop shipping policy, Amazon will place the seller's account under review for a period of up to 30 days.

During this time, funds in the account will be temporarily frozen, causing financial disruptions for the affected sellers.

Furthermore, in certain cases, Amazon may immediately suspend FBM privileges, preventing sellers from fulfilling orders through this method.

Requirements for Expedited Review:

To expedite the account review process, Amazon now requires sellers to provide invoices and proof of delivery for their shipped products.

However, simply providing these documents has proven to be insufficient for completing the review.

Through direct communication with Amazon, it has been revealed that the company requires evidence demonstrating a lack of violation.

One such form of evidence is providing invoices that cover all sales made on the account within the past 365 days.

This requirement poses a significant challenge for drop shippers, considering the high volume of inventory and sales involved in their operations.

Implications and Potential Appeals:

Given the difficulty of proving compliance, it is unlikely that sellers will be able to satisfy Amazon's demand for evidence of non-violation.

Consequently, this account review can result in the permanent suspension of FBM privileges.

At present, it remains uncertain whether Amazon will allow sellers to appeal such suspensions.

Regarding the frozen funds, once the review process is completed, they should be released to the sellers.

However, it is essential to stay informed about any updates regarding this ongoing review.

Conclusion:

Amazon's introduction of a new account review process for drop shipping policy violations has created challenges for sellers.

The freeze on funds, potential suspension of FBM privileges, and the requirement of extensive evidence present significant hurdles.

It is important for affected sellers to stay updated on any developments or changes in the review process.

As more information becomes available, we will continue to provide updates on this account review and its implications for Amazon sellers.
